Munich, Germany, 12 May, 2010 – Linde Gases, a division of The Linde Group, today announced the launch of its ARCLINE® Cleanflow gas purging system which allows purge time of pipes to be reduced by up to 45 percent, significantly improving welding productivity. The innovative patent-pending system produces a unique gas flow resulting in a near instantaneous removal of oxygen and allowing welding to commence almost immediately.
The new system not only prevents oxidation, but also staining caused by metal vapour that can appear at the sides of the welds, leaving them pristine in appearance and free from contaminants and alleviating the need for costly post weld cleaning. In addition, the special gas flow also has a cooling effect which reduces post weld waiting time and allows further processing of the pipes to start more quickly. The new purging system is particularly well suited to industries where the highest levels of cleanliness and zero tolerance of oxidation and staining levels are imposed, including the pharmaceutical, food and beverage and nuclear industries.
“Linde has always played a pioneering role in gas technology within the welding market,” said Lee Hermitage, Global Marketing Manager, Manufacturing Industry, Linde. “The development of the ARCLINE® Cleanflow purging system is further verification of not only our continuing commitment to innovation, but to providing products and solutions which significantly improve our customers’ productivity and help their compliance to safety and quality requirements.”
